Jumble of Stuff

Last week I was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful Valentine's Day gift from my husband. He knows I not only love McQueen, but chartreuse is my favourite colour. Imagine the glee when a chartreuse tri-skull ring was my gift! Perfection!

Showing off my lovely!
I've been dying for good crepes, somewhere along one of our moves I lost my good pan so haven't had luck making them (and they are so easy to make either sweet or savoury.) He found a local creperie that was casual but oh so delicious! Buckwheat crepes for supper, and my fav sucre, beurre, lemon for dessert. I cleaned each plate which is a first for me as I usually eat loads of small meals. And the dinner crepe was really packed! Definitely have to go back!

Also on Valentine's Day I re-did my hair pink. The pics don't show it too well, but the light parts are light pink. The only thing I dislike about light pink is that it fades so fast. I am quite in love with the darker pink "New Rose", and keep adding a little more each time the spirit moves me because it's so pretty!

Valentines Day, hair colour didn't show that well though. Tried to show that I did my nails to match my ring!
I also tried my hand again at the no-time bread I wrote about last week. Better luck this time, but I still must be doing something wrong as the crust is just too hard. It was perfect for breaking up into the vegetarian vegetable soup I made though!

No-Time Bread and Homemade Vegetarian Vegetable Soup.

Lastly, kitteh pics. You buy these kids all kinds of toys and what amuses them most? A box with tissue paper. Kids today!

A very content Calliope!

Wha? Its comfy mum!

PS for those interested, the werewolf hat came out looking too wonky, like its ears were the wrong size. So I took them off and have a happily toasty warm hat!

    1. Thanks Lakota, he's a keeper! (; Its so bloody cold here and I love making soup when its like this. So I make homemade soup at least once a week. A big pot so we can have leftovers for lunch on a blizzard day! Bread is my downfall, cheese too. I better figure a way to stockpile it for the zombie apocalypse as I might die without it! heehee!

    1. Cat traps! Every cat I have ever encountered LOVES boxes! Maybe it's like a nest? Oh and the smaller the better. I had a tiny Sephora box that Calliope somehow managed to get into and get all cosy! Its so comical sometimes! XXX

    1. Hi Helga, I love the pookies too! Calliope is still a little skittish from having been a stray (that little pookie can pack away food!), but has now declared herself princess -- that is when Fiona our dog allows it! My husband has finally learned the art of finding gifts that I'll be bowled over by. He's always lucky at finding me McQueen rings at bargain prices (not fakes either!) and well CHARTREUSE!!! Need I say more??? XXX

  4. That ring is gorgeous and your hair rocks! I had an awful savoury buckwheat pancake at a vegan joint in Goa and it put me off them for years, I should have a go myself, no crepe pan but my 25 year old wok usually does the trick.
Cats and boxes! Polly Piglet would squeeze herself in a cereal box if she could, but compromises by sitting on it instead! x

    1. Thanks, I'm enjoying the ring -- it draws people in because of the colour! Oh bummer on the crepe! I used to just make regular ones, but love buckwheat pancakes so was very pleased (the dessert crepe was regular). I wish I could remember what kind of pan I used to use, they came out great and it wasn't a crepe pan either. Don't have a wok, so I'm stumped. I did find a weird one unused in the original box from the 70s but it looks so complicated! Perhaps I'll make some simple ones to give it a try. Let me know how you do if you wind up making them! Cats and boxes just crack me up, I've taken to leaving them rather than breaking them down to watch the shenanigans! XXX

  5. More pink hair please! I am DEVASTATED that all attempts to pinkify my hair have failed dismally (too much dark brown hair dye I'm afraid), so I must live vicariously through your magnificent head!

Yay for the gorgeous ring <3

    1. Guten tag! I loooooove the ring, thank you! Never found one that colour even in a cheapie store (and this was a steal for McQueen). My hair is actually brighter. Taking selfies don't always catch the light correctly, but I'm about fed up with the silver hair (grey since I was 16) so I may bleach which turns it as white as possible within 10 minutes. Then I'll get the colour I want! And bring the suburbanites to their knees with fear! Hide your children the crazy woman is on the loose, wearing her ball gown and MC jacket! hahaha! I hope your weekend is filled with rocking, rolling and music too! (; XXX

    1. Hi Krista my fellow pink haired beauty! I know, isn't that ring to die for? It pretty much hasn't been off my finger since! I just cut my hair a bit -- it was getting to... bland -- and added a ton more pink. Trying to grow out the silver (its no longer grey due to starting to grey at 16) and throw pink on top. I do love it so, but nothing compares to your pink magnificence! Yep same with me & crepes, YUM! Thanks for coming by, I should have more pinkified pics later today. XXX
