My next door neighbor has embarked on some home DIY projects I found not only beautiful but easy and budget-friendly pick-me-ups for the home. She thinks I'm nuts for praising her creativity and begging for pictures, but I think she did a beautiful job! Here are some pictures of what she's done so far. You be the judge!

This is a small square window on the side of the house. She used stained glass paint to create the beautiful design. I think she did a fabulous job, and luckily for us, its the side that faces our house! I really need to get a good picture when the sun is shining... we've had more rain than sun this summer!

This is one of those non-descript unpainted pine computer hutches. She stained it, then did stenciling, making it look antiqued.

I took this to show the view from the kitchen through the dining to living rooms. The curtain matches the ones in the dining room and she used inexpensive beaded trim to tie them back.

Candle sconces spruced up by bringing in the same beaded trim.

A plain fabric lampshade made fresh with some gold paint. She simply took metallic gold paint and went to it painting over the fabric. Gives a lovely golden glow when the light is on!

The front door made new with some etching medium. Note the same curtains brought through to the living room to bring some continuity to the house. When you have one room after the other this helps the eye to flow through each room with ease. (I'm so in love with her front door, and wish we had one like it!)

She's also working on a great art piece for their basement family room, but wouldn't let me photograph it until its up. So look forward to seeing that one soon!
All in all, these simple touches really bring together her kitchen, dining and living room, making it into a cohesive look, that flows nicely from room to room. Now if I can de-clutter, perhaps I can do some of the same!
Cheers!
Suzanne
